Forge Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GKS Yazılım (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Istanbul, Turkey, handles information when you use the Forge mobile application (“Forge”, “the App”) on iOS and Android. Forge is a personal awareness companion for body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). We designed Forge so that your personal content stays on your device.

1. Summary

• Reflections, urge logs, streaks, settings, and progress photos are stored locally on your device.
• We do not operate a cloud backend that receives your journals, photos, or health-related entries.
• Subscription purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. Your app content is not shared with us during billing.
• You can delete all offline data at any time in Settings → Delete All Offline Data.

2. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use Forge, the App may store the following only on your device:

• Onboarding choices — focus areas, triggers, reminder preferences.
• Reflections and urge sessions — mood, intensity, notes, timestamps, and related logs.
• Progress photos — captured through the in-app camera for personal comparison.
• Thumbnails — smaller preview images kept in-app for timelines; not uploaded to our servers.
• Vault photos — full-resolution images encrypted on device (AES-256) when you use Forge Pro vault features.
• App preferences — notification settings, reminder hour, language, and similar local settings.

If you uninstall Forge or clear app data, this information is removed from your device. We cannot recover it because we do not hold a copy on our servers.

3. Information we do not collect on our servers

We do not intentionally collect or store on GKS Yazılım servers:

• Your reflection text, urge notes, or behavioral logs.
• Your progress photos or decrypted vault images.
• A Forge user account, email, or profile hosted by us.

4. Device permissions

Forge may request the following device permissions:

• Camera — to capture progress photos inside the App. Photos are processed and stored locally.
• Notifications — for optional daily reminders and urge-support nudges you enable in Settings.
• Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) — to unlock the encrypted photo vault (Forge Pro). Biometric data is handled by your operating system; we do not receive or store it.

You can revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features may stop working if a permission is denied.

5. Subscriptions and payment data

Forge offers an optional paid subscription (“Forge Pro”) with features such as unlimited daily photos, full progress timeline access, encrypted vault with biometrics, and trigger pattern analytics.

• Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Subscription status and purchase restoration are handled through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription platform.
• RevenueCat may receive an anonymous app user identifier and purchase metadata (e.g. product ID, entitlement status). It does not receive your reflections, photos, or journals.

Manage or cancel your subscription through the App Store or Play Store, or via Settings → Forge Pro → Manage subscription inside the App when available.

6. Third-party services

Forge integrates with services that have their own privacy policies:

• Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and payments.
• RevenueCat — subscription management (revenuecat.com/privacy).
• Apple / Google — operating system services for notifications, biometrics, and device storage.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Analytics and diagnostics

Forge does not include third-party advertising SDKs. Pattern insights and heat maps shown in the App are computed on your device from your local data. We do not receive those analytics remotely.

Apple and Google may collect crash or usage diagnostics according to your device and store settings. We may use platform-provided crash reports to improve stability.

8. Data retention and deletion

You control your data. To delete information stored by Forge:

1. In-app: Settings → Delete All Offline Data — permanently removes entries, logs, streaks, and vault photos on that device.
2. Uninstall the App to remove remaining local data.
3. iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Forge → Delete App.
4. Android: Settings → Apps → Forge → Storage → Clear data.

Deleting app data does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel subscriptions separately in the App Store or Play Store.

9. Children

Forge is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will help you remove local data by following the steps above.

10. International users

Forge is offered globally. Because your content stays on your device, it is generally not transferred to GKS Yazılım servers. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data — which, for Forge, is primarily exercised by deleting data on your device as described above.

For users in Turkey, our processing principles are aligned with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) regarding transparency and your right to request information about processing — noting that Forge’s design minimizes off-device processing of your sensitive content.

11. Security

We use on-device encryption for vault photos and follow platform security best practices. No method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device (passcode, biometrics, backups).

12. Not a medical service

Forge is an awareness and self-support tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional mental health care. Do not rely on Forge for emergency or crisis situations.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of Forge after changes means you accept the updated policy.
